Appearance:
Utau often wears a black dress that would be considered semi-Goth. The dress has a corset-like item with a red ribbon in the middle and the sleeves poof out a bit. The sleeves are long and the dress goes down to around her mid-thighs. She also has blonde hair that goes all the way up to her knees. Utau has violet eyes that bring out the tones of her skin, which is pale peach. She wears a necklace that seems like a collar with a cross dangling from the center. Utau also wears grey leggings that stop short at where her dress ends, showing only a bit of her thighs. She attracts quite a bit of attention from men, and at times from women, partly because of her occupation as an idol and because of her eye-catching features.
Iru is Utau's first Guardian Character. When Iru and Utau perform Character Transform, Utau sprouts bat wings and many wing shaped accessories and becomes Lunatic Charm. She is dressed in red and has huge, dark red, bat wings and her hair does not change. She wears a dark red bat collar.
Eru is Utau’s second Guardian Character. When Eru and Utau perform Character Transformation, Utau becomes Seraphic Charm. Utau wears a typical angelic dress in a Sweet Lolita style.

Personality:
Utau loves her brother Tsukiomi Ikuto and would always clear all the so called bugs (girls) that approach him. She is fairly calm and cold and can differentiate between right and wrong. When she sees Ikuto, Utau turns into something that could be compared to a puppy that follows their owner around. Slightly sadistic, she smirks rather than smiles. Utau is quite polite when speaking to others, but her words usually seem to have a slight demanding tone to them. Her way of speaking also incorporates a slight superior edge. Her view of life is that everything is about competition- nice people are nothing if they are weak.

Abilities/Strengths:
Utau can character transform with her guardian charas, which are around her almost 24/7. Utau has 2 guardian charas, one named Iru and the other Eru. Iru is the devil guardian and Eru is the guardian chara of Utau. Guardian Charas are typically guardians of their masters’ ‘heart egg’. They are their masters’ true personalities. When Iru and Utau character transform, her special move in "Lunatic Charm" form is "Nightmare Lorelei", which shoots out black bat wing shaped attacks surrounded by a red aura. When Utau and Eru character transform, her special move is "White Flag" and "Angel Wink". She also has the ability to produce a wind and obtain the item that she wants from another’s hands directly into her hands. Her singing can cause children (non-adults in general) to build their dreams up, leave their hearts defenseless, which in turn causes their hearts’ eggs to turn into X-eggs. (X-eggs are when a person’s heart no longer has hope, denies everything, and gives up his/her dreams.)

Weaknesses:
Utau’s weakness is her brother Ikuto. Once she sees Ikuto her character transformation disables and she will do whatever she can do to make Ikuto happy or pleased. Another weakness would be if Iru or Eru were taken away from her. Utau would not be able to character transform. She would be a regular human with no guardians to protect her, with no powers to use. She would be wide open for any attack and thus making her vulnerable. If engaged in a fight, Utau’s long hair may be a weakness for her. It may interrupt her fight, her actions, or it may simply be an advantage for the enemy to pull/attack her hair. Utau is also easily irritated and frustrated. She broods over many things at once, causing her to be unable to concentrate at times.

Notable Possessions:
Utau possesses 2 Shugo Charas. One is Iru and the other is Eru. For a period of time she had gotten hold of the X-Egg Dia, Amu’s Guardian Chara. Amu is her rival. One is called Iru, the devil, and the other one is Eru, the angel.
Iru has short, dark hair and devil wings, tail, and horns. She wears a two piece skirt and top that seem to come on as if they were bats. Iru is mean, unkind and dislikes nagging. Her other guardian chara, Eru, is treated badly because she is the angel in Utau and always tells her what she's doing is not right while the devil, Iru, cheers Utau on. Has an angel appearance. Eru is gentle hearted and seems to be treated badly. She uses English words like "wait" and "shut up" in her speech. Eru likes to nag, dislikes meanness and unkindness. She is also always seen with her eyes closed.


History:
Utau is a junior-high school idol. She is 14 and sings, acts, and dances. She is the vocalist of the indie band "Black Diamonds" which is created by her manager, Yukari Sanjou. Utau is Ikuto's little sister. Utau is known overly protective of her older brother Ikuto from other girls because she is in love with him. The only reason Utau is working for Easter is for Ikuto, due to the fact that Easter has threatened to finish him off. She is contracted to the company Easter so they cannot escape. "Like butterflies trapped inside a cage" Utau’s manager once said.
Utau has lost all of her family, except for her brother. It may be for this reason that she begins to develop feelings for him, as they only had each other till now. Without the warmth of a family, Utau becomes cold and unwilling to associate with others except for Ikuto. Whenever Ikuto is around, Utau seems to be more alert.
Utau has two guardian charas, Iru and Eru. Iru is the devil side of her while Eru is the angelic side of her. Both often fight with one another. Iru often supports Utau’s actions while Eru would disagree and disapprove.
She is rivaled with Amu, the person that Ikuto is in love with. Utau openly challenges Amu and states that she will not back down from claiming Ikuto’s love. But slowly, after Amu’s guardian chara Eru, Utau and Amu begin to warm up to each other.
